The MiCROTEC Viscan machine strength grader for sawn timber and planed timber is the world’s most widely used strength sorting device among major glulam and cross-laminated timber (CLT) manufacturers.
Viscan Strength Grader is the best in class vibration measurement to determine the MOE of lumber. It fulfills all relevant strength grading certifications worldwide. Viscan measures the board’s resonance frequency thanks to a high-performance laser vibrometer that works indepThe results of repeated tests of the Viscan strength sorting are the best on the market. The device is reliable and certified for strength sorting of most softwood used as construction material in the world (C16, C24, C35, C40). The interferometer used as a measuring instrument is not as sensitive to noise and vibration in the production environment as some competing devices. The device does not require daily adjustment. If the length of the measured material is different, an additional length measuring device must be installed in front of the device. To achieve the best results, we recommend that when strength sorting non-pre-cut material, an additional table-end panel saw be installed in front of the strength sorting device. If you want even better material output for higher strength classes C35, C40, we recommend using the MiCROTEC scanner Goldeneye 702 and Viscan combination solution = Goldeneye 706
We recommend that the MiCROTEC M3 material moisture measuring device be installed in the line.
