The new Goldeneye 700 series scanners are equipped with state-of-the-art cameras and software. Models 702 and 706 are equipped with a new generation of X-ray technology that allows them to detect not only visual defects in the material (knots, cracks, holes, wormholes) but also internal defects (density differences, internal knots, resin pockets, larger cracks and rot).
The scanners are widely used: optimization-cut saw lines, planing lines, sorting lines and other special-purpose woodworking lines. Model 706 is a combination of the Goldeneye 702 scanner with an additional strength sorter Microtec Viscan (a strength grading device based on interferometer technology) mounted on a cross conveyor. Three different technologies (visual inspection of the material, material inspection by X-ray method and material inspection by strength class with an additional strength sorting device) allow this combined device to perform the most accurate strength sorting. This solution is unique and very well received by customers. The solution is especially suitable for material sorting lines where, after pre-calibration of the material (in some cases without pre-calibration), it is necessary to sort the material according to strength classes and the maximum output of higher strength classes C 35 and C40 is expected. That is why most of Europe’s leading glulam processors and cross-laminated timber (CLT) manufacturers use Microtec Goldeneye 706. The product is certified for most softwood species in European regions.
